Hi! My name is Tamrin Gellert Ghai. I was born and raised in New York City and am pursuing a double major in Music and Philosophy at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. Growing up, music was a very important part of my life. I began taking piano lessons at 5 years old and was also taking ballet. Combining those different aspects of internalizing music allowed me to develop an appreciation for the art form.

In the fall semester of my junior year, I studied abroad at University College Dublin, where I began documenting in a newsletter available to view on this website! I hope to continue the newsletter as I continue my education at Bates. I aim to have the newsletter focus on my musical journey and provide insight into my projects and endeavors.

Music has always been a core part of my life. I’ve played piano for 15 years, ukulele for 10 years, and guitar for 8 years (I also started taking tabla last year). Since I was 12, I’ve been writing songs expressing thoughts and feelings I would not have been able to work through in any other way. I’ve released three original tracks, with more music on the way, and I hope you’ll stick around and hear what’s coming next!
